M8 Junction 27 | Essential Investigation Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake essential investigation works on the M8 at Junction 27 westbound off-slip as part of a proposed pedestrian crossing scheme. These works are scheduled to take place from Wednesday 10th June and Saturday 13th June 2026 between the hours of 8pm and 6am, with overnight closures of the M8 Junction 27 westbound off-slip.
Further investigation works will continue following completion of the initial phase. Details of subsequent works and associated dates will be confirmed in due course. These dates will be updated on the Amey website: https://swtrunkroads.scot/scottish-south-west-trunk-roads/
Traffic will be directed to continue westbound on the M8 to Junction 28 to exit and then re-join the M8 eastbound to Junction 27, where they will follow Arkleston Road and Renfrew Road, where the diversion will end.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day by informing future improvements in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
