M74 at Junction 10 (Nethan Viaduct) | Cable Installations

M74 at unction 10 (Nethan Viaduct)
17th of November 2025, 8:00pm to 21st of November 2025, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential cable installations on the M74 at Junction 10 (Nethan Viaduct) from Monday 17th November until Friday 21st November 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.

This work will require overnight hard shoulder and lane closures on the M74 northbound, as well as overnight closures of the Junction 10 off-slip. Traffic will be directed to continue northbound on the M74 and exit at Junction 8 and return south via the M74 to Junction 9 and follow the B7078/ Carlise Road to Junction 10. This diversion will add approximately 13 minutes to journeys.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
