Amey is undertaking further overnight surfacing improvements on an additional section of the A95 near Boat of Garten in the Highlands from Thursday 14th November to Monday 25th November.
The £180,000 project, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will address defects on approximately 470 metres of the A95 trunk road between the Drumuillie eastern gateway and Gartenbeg/Garten House/Balnafoich.
The essential maintenance will complement a recent £565,000 investment Amey has undertaken to resurface 1420 metres of the A95 between Boat of Garten and 100 metres south of the Carrbridge Junction.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures on Sunday to Thursday each week between 7.30pm and 6.30am.
There will be no overnight work on each Friday and Saturday night during the work period, Friday 15th/Saturday 16th November, and Friday 22nd/Saturday 23rd November.
All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Monday 25th November.
The following diversion will be in place during the overnight road closures.
Southbound traffic will leave the A95 at Dulnain Bridge, turning right onto the A938 and continuing to Carrbridge, then turning left onto the B9153 and rejoining the A95 at Kinveachy. Northbound traffic will take the route in reverse.
In addition, amnesties to allow traffic through the works area will be available at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm, 11.30pm, 1.30am, 3am and 5am each night. Please note that traffic will be allowed through one direction at a time so delays are possible.
The resurfacing will benefit more than 4,400 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
