UPDATE (22/11/24): Due to a poor weather forecast, works on the A828 Kentallan, South of Ballachulish will be delayed by two days.

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are due to carry out overnight resurfacing on the A828 at Kentallen, south of Ballachulish on Thursday 14 November and Tuesday 26 November. No work will take place on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

These improvements will fix defects in the road surface and improve road marking, providing a safer and more durable road surface and improving visibility.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 6am each night. Traffic management will be removed outwith these hours, however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Due to restricted road widths through this section of the A828, the road will be closed in both directions each night. During periods of closure, amnesties will allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12pm, 2am and 4am. Emergency service vehicles will be allowed to pass through the site throughout the working period.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These works will improve the existing road surface, providing a safer and smoother journey for road users.

“We thank the travelling public for their patience ahead of these road improvements.”
