Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential culvert refurbishments and barrier replacement on the A76 at Polhote burn and Polmarlach burn, north of Thornhill, from Monday 8th June until Friday 3rd July 2026 at the Polhote burn site and from Monday 6th July 2026 until Friday 31st July 2026 at the Polmarlach burn site. While works are being undertaken a continuous 24-hour single lane closure will be in place.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety for road usersat this location.
